Outeach & Service Activities

for Children & Youth

A robust Faith Formation program is available for preschool through high school students.

Many activities are available to involve children and youth, as well as their families, in outreach and service to others. Some of these activities are imbedded in the Sunday morning church school program while others are separate. Church membership is not required.

Junior Youth Service Group 
Grades 6 - 8

YSG students actively participate in community service projects throughout the Church School year led by various volunteers. Church membership is not required.

High School Youth Service Group
Grades 9 - 12

Senior High School students plan special trips and activities that include social, educational and service functions. Church membership is not required

Intergenerational Events

Family Faith

The Family Faith is an intergenerational group geared toward families with children (babies/youngsters), parents, grandparents and friends. Each meeting provides focuses on a common theme or mission-based initiative and features faith study, activities, singing and food. The group meets once per month, usually on Saturday from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm, but times and days are flexible due to seasonal events and school calendars.

Other Events

A variety of other events and service opportunities are scheduled throughout the year such as Spread Love Peanut Butter Collection, Lantern Walk, "Souper" Bowl soup collection, End Hunger and Plarn mat project.

Scholarships

Parish Life, in coordination with Children & Youth, awards the Centennial Scholarship and the Forshay-Riesenman Scholarship annually to graduating seniors who are members of Glen Ridge Congregational Church and display Christian ideals and service.
